I run, I craft, I write, and I make your favorite clothes.

I have written books about sewing for children and adults and I'm the indie designer’s patternmaking secret weapon. I've taught video and in-person classes to anyone who would listen since 2008. I believe that sewing clothes is a radical act of self-love that increases your sense of self-worth. I'm basically your sewing fairy godmother.

Sewn Hats Blog Tour (& Giveaway!)

I cannot tell you how thrilled I was when asked to contribute to Carla Crim’s new book Sewn Hats.  Not only is a making a coordinating hat the coolest way to turn any garment into an “outfit,” but they are so fun to make, and some can be whipped up in about an hour!
You will find a myriad of choices (and sizes) in Carla’s book.  THIRTY FIVE HATS.  Each is a complete, stand-alone with detailed, clearly- illustrated instructions (as we’ve come to expect from any of Carla’s brilliant works) and full-color photos so you really see the details.
Looking through the styles offered, I have been stumped as to which to make for myself.  Of course I love my submission, the Extra Extra Newskid Cap. But my head is just a smidge too big for the children’s sizes.
Therefore, I have decided to put the task to you!  Please have a look at this amazing table of contents and post which hat you would want to have:
Your comment will be counted as an entry to the Giveaway which gets you your own copy of this gem sent directly from Wiley.
But wait, there’s more!  If you tell me in your entry which of the hats is your favorite, I will MAKE YOU A HAT.  That’s right, I’ll make a hat for you from this book, and send it to you anywhere in the world.
Please enter only once.  The winner will be chosen at random on September 21 (That’s this Friday!)
Each blog tour stop will include a giveaway, so make sure you visit them all!

I love the news kid hat but it wouldn’t fit me, either. I do have grandsons who would look darling in it, though.
