So, since this was my first “craft show” and it was really an international electronic music festival, I really didn’t know what to expect. I remember telling my mom when I left the house (and her with all the kids) that I was really excited to finally do something without any kids! I arrived downtown to discover that one of the volunteers didn’t show up, so I called Julia to come fill in (and experience the festival. So, my night “without kids” lasted about an hour altogether.
We had a fantastic time…but I only sold one shirt and one hat.
I had a lot of requests for adult-sized clothing, so I may consider doing that in the future for an audience like this one (mostly young adults).
I bought a cuff from Amy of Handmade Detroit because I have coveted this ruffle-cuff since I first saw it emerge from her purse as a prototype.
These are Amy’s photos….I’m showing that a large child’s hat fits me, so when people asked for adult hats, they should try the kid large, and there are the volunteers after packing up the booth (Amy’s taking the pictures).
Good news is that I have some inventory now, so I can jump right in to the next available craft show, because I will surely participate in one again. I think a market where folks would specifically be shopping for themselves and their families would be a good choice for me, but I’m going to keep trying. Maybe I’ll branch out to the local Farmer’s Market next summer? We’ll see. I was very happy for the exposure and experience.
