I just love working with knit fabrics.
Last year, I posted a tutorial at Sew, Mama, Sew about knit-on-knit applique.
There’s also a chapter on re-using t-shirts that have somehow made it past their use-by-date in my new book.
I was thrilled to contribute a bit for the Great Knit Fabric Experiment (which I blogged over on PBF.)
Since t-shirt season is upon us, I’ll be offering a mini-workshop for this week’s “Thursday Finish-Ups” at Blue House Ann Arbor.
I’m pretty sure I know at least ONE person who has kids, or who stains their own t-shirts regularly (coffee, anyone?). Want to come save a shirt that fits perfectly but you cannot wear in public any longer? Or maybe create something new to enhance a shirt you never seems to wear? Come play with me this Thursday, June 23.
You don’t need a ruined t-shirt to partcipate. I’ll be bringing some practice shirts, and supplies, and scraps, and all the pieces you need to complete the project. All you need to bring is your sewing machine. After the mini-workshop, I’ll be on had to answer specific questions and give one-on-one help for *any* garment-related questions.
(I’ll also be offering lots of verbal hugs and companionship for those finishing up their works-in-progress in case a pat on the back is more necessary than actual assistance!)
