I finally made view C-2 from Koharu No Fuku and I don’t know what took me so long to discover this pattern. Maybe Ella just needed to be the right size? Maybe I just needed the right fabric? Whatever the reason, this won’t be my last. I made a size 90 for her and it fits perfectly.
I used the gorgeous Danish babycord from Astrid at Ella’s request. ("You make me something from dis!") The shape is so simple, that it is just perfect for highlighting a beautiful fabric.
I had a hard time getting pictures because Ella was so excited. Since it is *very* cold here in Detroit, she’s wearing a long-sleeved tee underneath, but I think this will be a great transitional piece from winter to Spring. I might even make some changes and include it in my Spring line…we’ll see.

Actually, I did already make changes to the pattern. (Just not visible changes.) I don’t like facings on little kid clothes…they always seem to need ironing, or they irritate the little ones. I bound the neck and arms with a bias-cut babywale corduroy. For the hem, I discovered a neat trick for making perfect narrow hems on curves. Maybe you already know how, but I know some of the best sewing discoveries for me have been the simple ones, so I’m working on the instructable now so I can share!
